His blessing is an empowerment to be what God has configured you to be. It will attract riches, long life and other things that can make the colour of your? life enviable. It is God's hand laid on you to guarantee your destiny - Deuteronomy 28:8. It comes with His visitation because every time He visits, He leaves a blessing behind.

This year, stop running up and down and seek after His blessing. His blessing is the way to your rising.

When the LORD comes visiting.

?Surely, the Lord will visit you? (Genesis 50:24). Joseph spoke with assurance because he knew that whenever the Lord is invited, He comes visiting. For the audience of Joseph, God's visitation was to come with deliverance from the land of bondage. There was a land of rest and accomplishment that they did not know as long as they were in the house of bondage.

For Sarah, the Lord's visitation came with the performance of God's promises. 'And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken' (Genesis 21:1-2).

For Lazarus, it was a restoration to life and dignity (John 11:28, 43-44). Christ visited him because of personal love. Immediately Jesus arrived, Martha called Mary and said, 'the Master is come'. If Jesus is around, you are not too late for a resurrection! If things around you are dead, your situation warrants a resurrection.

When your head cannot catch up with your heart

It is terrible when the heart cannot hear what God is saying. In such cases, the heart is not discerning and as such, the head is ahead. Everything the man does are 'reasonable things'. He applies is intellect alone. Of course this is a lot limited. The problem is that all his life only features reasonable results. How does he handle insight into the present, foresight into the future and far sight into the far future. That was the case of Lot. He chose the reasonable. A man once told a servant of God that he fears all those who claim that God speaks to them to which the man of God immediately replied that he also fears all those that God does not speak to!

What could also happen is when the heart of man is picking the signals of the Holy Ghost but the Spirit is showing things that the head of the man cannot assimilate. They are not tying up with his theology (I do not mean that they are against the Bible). Imagine Peter in Acts 10:9-20. God was speaking to him about the arrival of a new day for the Gentiles but he was adamant with his religion. He wasn't flexible enough for God and a more flexible Paul was sent for the assignment.

If God had told Mordecai at the eve of his change that by the morning time, he would ride on a horse like a prince, he might have said things that doubt God's ability. sometimes God refuses to show us the things that belong to our peace because our mental capability cannot process what He want to do. The head thinks that it will take time but no, it doesn't take time, it takes God.

What if God is saying to you this moment that you will be a man of God when you are not even born again. What happens if God is saying that the pregnancy you are carrying now out of an immoral act will bring deliverance to your lineage. God can override your mistakes to His own purposes when you repent genuinely.

You don't have a piece of land but He is saying that you will finish your house before the year is over. You have not got a job and He is saying that He will buy you a car. No woman in view and yet He is saying that you will settle down in your own family this year. What do you do? Priest Zechariah's mouth was divinely shut so that he would not utter his head.

The man in II Kings 7:1-2 made a mistake, he spoke out his doubt about the ability of God thereby limiting the Holy One of Israel. The blessing came but he did not have the capacity to receive. The arrival of the blessing was for other desirable but for him, disastrous. What happens if the blessing is available but you are not blessable.

How to be blessable

There are people that are not blessable just like there are people that are not cursable (Deuteronomy 23:5) It all depends on the material that you are made up of. Of Esau the bible says, 'For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected' - Hebrews 12:17

Like Zaccheus, there is a place to stand and the King will sight you when He is passing by. There is a way to live that attracts the blessing ? every time. The way is called obedience.?

You cannot obey His law and not attract His love. He blesses who He loves (Deuteronomy 23:5). To consistently attract His blessings, you must diligently obey His lessons. The difference between obedience and diligent obedience is in paying attention to details. when His instructions are not misplaced, His blessings will be in place.

God has pronounced some categories of people blessed. Your wisdom is to fall in line.

Blessed is he whose transgressions is forgiven. Psalm 32:1-2

Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord. Psalm 112:1

Blessed is he that considers the poor. Psalm 41:1

Blessed are they that have believed and have not yet seen. John 20:29

There are many more. Seek ye out of the book of the Lord and read, none of these shall fail (Isaiah 34:16)

Whenever you fulfil the condition of the word, you jump-start the operation of the pronouncement. Obedience turns a man into a miracle waiting to happen.

When obedience is missing, the blessing of God becomes a curse - Malachi 2:2. An obedient life will be a holy life. Clean hands and pure heart will bring God's blessings-Psalm 24:4-5.

Consecration to God also opens the door of His blessings. Being dangerously committed to Christ and totally loyal to His cause is a sure access to His blessings. 'For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day' - Exodus 32:29

Blessed and being a Blessing

Small minds pray and stop at 'God bless me' but great minds go ahead and say 'God make me a blessing'.

To be a blessing is to have been blessed and be able to bless others. To be a blessing means to have the capacity to impact. This is the ultimate - God putting His Spirit upon you in such measures that you release and impact people's lives. In essence, it is sharing of the abundance which you have received - physical and spiritual.

The more you bless, the more you are blessed. It starts with a genuine concern for others. At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus wept.

Whosoever you bless is blessed - Hebrews 7:7
Whosoever blesses you is blessed - Genesis 12:3

In this new year, share the love of the Saviour. Tell of His wondrous love and care. Be careful to do good works. Mentor and coach younger ones in such a way that their lives will matter to God and to humanity.? Be available to attend to people. Don't be too busy to bless. Pray each day to be a blessing. 'And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better' Hebrews 7:7. Look at two different blessings that you should be releasing.

- Propehtic blessing - Jesus speaks of a prophet's reward (Matthew 10:41) Servants of God need to know this.

- Parental blessing - Parents need to know of the blessing that flows from them to their children, biological or spiritual.

You are a blessing when others can partake of what you carry. 'By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted' - Proverbs 11:11. '...that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.'- Genesis 39:5

You carry something. Share it and let it increase.

This year is a journey and it has started. Ensure that you keep focused on the goal. This year, the blessing will distinguish you. What do you need?

Seeking His word to know what to do so that He can do what He must do

Travelling the way of obedience, paying attention to details.

Listen to God - 'from this day will I bless you' - Haggai 2:19.

This year will be your best ever because God will bless you.
